M. Ed, Student Development in Higher Education, University of Maine (Orono, Maine); BA, Sociology, Bates College (Lewiston, Maine).  JET (Japan Exchange & Teaching) Programme Alumna
(Kumamoto Prefecture, 1994-1997).  Joined the JASGC as Executive Director in March, 2016 after spending 18 years as a faculty member and program director at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.

A native participant with the Grassroots Exchange Network-Japan (GEN-J) program at the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati. GEN-J program is provided by The Japan Foundation and The Laurasian Institution.                                

Anna Thorner(トーナー・アンナ)

Digital Media & Communications

With Bachelors of Arts and Science in International Studies and Japanese, she studied abroad at Gifu University her junior year and lived in Japan after graduation in Okazaki-Shi and Gifu-Shi until 2016. While she was living in Okazaki-Shi, she worked for the Board of Education creating an English curriculum for 5th and 6th year students in Elementary School. She has taken the JLPT N3 and passed. Currently, she is studying to take the N2 December 2020.
