On Friday, December 8, the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati (JASGC) hosted its annual Bonenkai \u5fd8\u5e74\u4f1a<\/a>, a traditional Japanese year-end party, at the Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n

Bonenkai, which literally translates to “forget-the-year-gathering,” is a cherished tradition in Japan marking the end of the year. It’s an opportunity to leave behind the worries and troubles of the past year and look forward to a fresh start.<\/p>\n

The event began with a cocktail hour followed by a buffet from Mei Japanese Restaurant and Japanese-style desserts from Caf\u00e9 Mochiko.<\/p>\n

Again this year, JASGC Board Members Steve and Helen Rindsberg hosted a US-Japan Trivia Game, sparking lively conversations and laughter throughout the room. Teams battled it out for the top 3 spots.<\/p>\n

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible, and we look forward to hosting more such events in the future.<\/p>\n

For those who couldn’t join us this year, we hope to see you at our next Bonenkai! Here’s to a wonderful year ahead!<\/p>\n
