Ikebana Workshop

What Is Ikebana?

Ikebana (生け花) is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Unlike Western floral design, which often emphasizes fullness and symmetry, Ikebana focuses on line, space, and balance. It reflects the natural world and often highlights simplicity, seasonality, and asymmetry.

Each arrangement tells a quiet story. Branches, flowers, and leaves are positioned with intention to create harmony between the natural elements, the container, and the space around them. Ikebana is both an artistic and meditative practice that values patience, attention, and subtle beauty.
