A Letter from our President

Dear Friends,

Over the years we have transformed into a society where social distancing and remote work arrangements have become the norm, and we emerged as a more resilient, agile group of human beings. Yet, we still miss the emotional connectedness and personal relationships that is so important to our well-being.

In that sense it has been extremely challenging to connect Japan and America in a meaningful way. Our Japan America Society has adapted by learning how to connect bridges through creative ways and bringing cultures, businesses, and people together like never before. I am proud of what the Japan America Society has accomplished during a very challenging time and am committed to growing Greater Cincinnati into a diverse, well-rounded community where all opinions and views are valued.

As we evolve to take on the new world in meaningful ways, I’d like you to consider one of my favorite Japanese expressions, 一期一会( ichi-go-ichi-e), meaning to cherish every encounter and treat every moment as it is a once in a lifetime experience. We hope to create an environment where every gathering helps to create long-lasting relationships and partnerships.

Lastly, I’d like to sincerely thank our members, staff, board members, and sponsors for their compassionate support and partnership throughout the years.
I am grateful, humbled, and inspired.

Sincerely,

Koji Sado
