Many hands make light work! We are pleased to report a excellent turnout for the Ault Park Sakura Grove Beautification Tree Care event today on Saturday, March 16. This significant gathering drew volunteers, including members of the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati (JASGC), students, and community members from all across the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky metro area. The event was a collaborative effort with the Cincinnati Park Board, who provided essential supplies for the day’s work.
Under the guidance of Tokiko Freeman, a long time friend of the JASGC, the volunteers embarked on a mission to ensure the Sakura Grove was in prime condition for the eagerly awaited O-Hanami Picnic scheduled for April 6th hosted by Asianati and JASGC. Tasks included spreading mulch and ensuring the paths around the Sakura trees were safe and dry, enhancing the beauty and accessibility of this cherished spot.
The 16th Ault Park Sakura Tree Care event showcased the power of teamwork and community spirit, successfully preparing the Sakura Grove for upcoming spring celebrations, thanks to the dedicated efforts of all participants.
